ISRO IPRC Age Limit 2026: DOB Cutoff, Relaxation & Eligibility

The ISRO IPRC age limit 2026 depends on the post code in Advertisement No. IPRC/RMT/2026/01. For post codes 60–68 and 70, the stated age band is 18 to 35 years as on 5 October 2026. For Fireman ‘A’ (post code 71), the age band is 18 to 25 years on that same cutoff date.

Important date update: IPRC has extended online application submission to 24 October 2026, 5:00 PM, and fee remittance to 29 October 2026, 5:00 PM. The extension notice changes those deadlines; it does not announce a new age cutoff. The detailed notification still states 5 October 2026 as the cutoff for age and qualifications. Checked against the official IPRC notice and corrigendum on 13 October 2026.

The notification gives the age bands and cutoff date rather than a separate post-wise DOB table. The date windows above are calculated from those stated bands; they are for the unrelaxed age limits. The official advertisement and any later corrigendum take precedence if IPRC issues a more specific DOB rule.

Which IPRC Posts Use the 18–35 Age Limit?

The 18–35 band applies to Technical Assistant posts 60, 61 and 62; Technician ‘B’ posts 63, 64, 65, 66, 67 and 68; and Cook ‘A’, post code 70. The notice lists the following 22 vacancies in total:

The Technical Assistant and Technician ‘B’ roles, along with Cook ‘A’, use the 18–35 age band. Fireman ‘A’ is different: it has a lower upper-age limit of 25 and additional physical and medical requirements.

What Is the DOB Cutoff for ISRO IPRC Recruitment 2026?

The detailed advertisement names 5 October 2026 as the cutoff date for computing age and checking essential qualifications/experience. Use your date of birth against that date—not your age today and not the later application deadline.

Examples for post codes 60–68 and 70

  • A person born on 5 October 1991 turns 35 on the cutoff date and is within the basic 18–35 band, subject to the remaining eligibility conditions.
  • A person born on 5 October 1990 turns 36 on the cutoff date and is over the standard upper age limit unless an applicable relaxation changes the result.
  • A person born on 5 October 2008 turns 18 on the cutoff date. A person born on 6 October 2008 has not yet turned 18 on that date.

Examples for Fireman ‘A’ (post code 71)

  • A person born on 5 October 2001 turns 25 on the cutoff date and is within the basic 18–25 band, subject to the other requirements.
  • A person born on 5 October 2000 turns 26 on the cutoff date and exceeds the standard upper age limit unless an applicable relaxation applies.

These are worked examples from the notification’s stated age bands and cutoff date, not separate examples published by IPRC. If your date of birth is close to either boundary, compare it with the detailed advertisement and retain the documents used for the application.

Age Relaxation in ISRO IPRC Recruitment 2026

The detailed notice provides five years of age relaxation for SC/ST candidates and three years for OBC candidates where the advertised post is reserved for the relevant category. It also lists upper-age relaxation under applicable Government of India orders for eligible serving government employees, ex-servicemen, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), widows, divorced women and women judicially separated from their husbands who have not remarried, and meritorious sportspersons.

Do not add years to your limit automatically just because you belong to a category. Check whether the specific post is reserved for that category and whether you satisfy the notification’s documentary conditions. The advertisement refers to applicable government orders for the other listed groups; it does not give one universal additional number for every such case.

How Many Vacancies and What Is the Selection Process?

Advertisement No. IPRC/RMT/2026/01, dated 12 September 2026, lists 22 vacancies across Technical Assistant, Technician ‘B’, Cook ‘A’ and Fireman ‘A’ roles. For Technical Assistant, Technician ‘B’ and Cook ‘A’, the listed selection stages are a written test followed by a curriculum-based skill test. Fireman ‘A’ candidates face a written test, a physical-efficiency skill test and a detailed medical examination.

For the Fireman ‘A’ post, the notification also sets physical fitness standards and requires a preliminary medical examination certificate with the online application. Meeting the age requirement alone therefore does not establish eligibility for that post.
